Dutch Automation & Technologies was responsible for the installation and commissioning support of a large scale chocolate processing system in Shanghai, China, built around a 1000 kg batch dry conche combined with a high capacity grinding system.
The project formed part of a production expansion focused on increasing processing capacity, improving product consistency and creating a reliable production process for industrial chocolate manufacturing.
Our involvement covered the complete installation and commissioning phase of the system, including mechanical placement support, electrical integration, automation commissioning and operational start up assistance.
The installation included:
- 1000 kg batch dry conche system
- High capacity grinding line
- Product transfer systems
- Pumps, pipework and process instrumentation
- Electrical control infrastructure and motor control systems
Due to the complexity of combining batch processing dry conching with continuous grinding operations, careful coordination between the different process stages was required throughout the installation and commissioning phase.
Dutch Automation & Technologies was directly responsible for:
- Supervision during equipment placement and installation
- Electrical and automation integration support
- PLC and process control commissioning
- Motor and drive commissioning
- Instrumentation testing and verification
- Process start up and tuning
- Fault finding and troubleshooting during commissioning
- Production testing under operational conditions
- Operator and production support during start up
Particular attention was given to achieving stable process flow between the dry conche and grinding sections, ensuring reliable transfer, correct process temperatures and consistent final product quality throughout the system.
Commissioning activities included live process adjustments, system optimisation and operational testing under production conditions to ensure stable long term operation and reliable production performance.
The project was executed within a demanding industrial production environment where coordination, flexibility and practical problem solving were essential during both installation and commissioning.
Projects such as this demonstrate the capability of Dutch Automation & Technologies to support complex industrial food processing installations internationally, delivering practical hands on expertise from equipment placement through to full commissioning and operational production support.
